* We loves us some implosions. And this one is amazing:

Steel from demolition of TV tower in Bladen County to help Green Beret Foundation
The tallest manmade structure east of the Mississippi River came crashing down Thursday afternoon, the climax to an event that served as a learning experience for Fort Bragg soldiers and a fundraiser.
The 1,905-foot television tower, along N.C. 53 south of White Lake, once belonged to Raycom Media and had towered over the pines in Bladen County for decades, according to officials.
Last year, the tower, which was made obsolete by the switch to digital signal three years ago, was donated to the Green Beret Foundation along with 77 acres.

Be sure to watch the video, if, for nothing else, the bang bang bang. Thanks for the tip, Allie!

Cool video. I would have sworn that tower was going to topple to one side instead of mostly going straight down.

I know. I was holding my breath the whole time thinking it was going to fall straight out.
