I've got an answer

Today's sunrise was made for us.

* WBEZ: GOP Rep. Aaron Schock considering run for governor

Republican Congressman Aaron Schock of Peoria says he's considering a run for Illinois governor.
Schock tells WMAQ-TV in Chicago that he hopes other GOP hopefuls will step aside. Schock says "the less bloodletting, the better."

I've been thinking about this. If I was sitting down with Aaron Schock to plan his political future, I'd tell him to skip the Illinois governor's race. Until the economy gets on much better footing, it's a dead-end job for a guy like him. I'd tell him to first clear his name with the House Ethics Committee, run for congress one more time in 2014 (and win), then in 2016, run for Mark Kirk's U.S. Senate seat (and win), and finally, in 2020 run for president (assuming he'll be old enough by then). Not that he'd take political advice from a Democrat like me, but if you see this Aaron, feel free to run with it.

* Unclear on the concept:

A newly elected suburban state senator is rounding up fellow Illinois Republican officials to try to oust the chair of the beleaguered party over his support for legalizing same-sex marriage.

When I first heard about Brady's support of same-sex marriage, I thought, oh, good. If he's able to move his party away from some of its more anti-social policies (for lack of a better term), maybe the people would finally take a serious look at their economic policies. But, apparently, some in the party don't want that. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

* I implore you, please, save Marie's Riptide Lounge.

* I'm going to fly away. What have I got to lose? Will you come see me Thursdays and Saturdays?
