Let me whisper in your ear

* Bill transferring ownership of Wildlife Prairie State Park goes to Quinn:

House Bill 1292, co-sponsored in the Senate by Dave Koehler, D-Peoria, and Darin LaHood, R-Dunlap, is now headed to Gov. Pat Quinn, who has already expressed his support.
“We need to keep Wildlife Prairie Park open,” Koehler said in a news release about the 2,000-acre state park in Edwards. “The state just doesn’t have the resources to do it anymore, but Friends of Wildlife Prairie State Park can and will.”

It seems like just yesterday we were throwing cash around, buying up other lands.

* The 60s at 50: Wednesday, April 24, 1963: Kennedy on Vietnam

We don't have a prayer of staying in Vietnam. Those people hate us. They are going to throw our asses out of there at almost any point. But I can't give up a piece of territory like that to the Communists and then get the American people to re-elect me.

* .Angie, Angie, where will it lead us from here?
