You know the tune

As daylight fades.

* President Obama's speech on his desire to carry out limited military action against Syria: Obama urges military action against Syria, but will seek Congress' OK. Two immediate thoughts: One, I am not 100% convinced that it was Assad who carried out the chemical weapons attack. And, two, whether he did or not, I am not convinced that American military intervention is the answer to the problem.

* I agree with this man.

* Meanwhile, back at the ranch: U.S. spy agencies mounted 231 offensive cyber-operations in 2011, documents show.

* Tuesday, September 3, 1963: U.S. minimum wage goes to $1.25 an hour. That is $9.50 in 2013 dollars.

* Lodi police investigate accidental shooting:

During the Little Buckaroos Reading Round-up event, Officer Robert Rench was helping a boy try on pieces of SWAT team gear, when another young boy approached unnoticed. The boy, who witnesses told police was about 6 years old, reached his finger toward the gun and pulled the trigger, Piombo said.

The Glock handguns that SWAT members carry aren’t equipped with a safety, Piombo said.

“There is nothing we could have done differently,” he said. “It was just an accident. It boggles the mind why a child would do that.”

You don't know kids.

* Copper.

* Dream house with attached garage.

* Shawneetown, Illinois.

* Oh, Lord! Stuck in Lodi again.... (Sorry, you knew I couldn't let that one slip by.)
