Trousers are gone

This morning.

* First otter trapping season called a success:

According to DNR figures, the total value of pelts sold (of all species) was over $2.5 million. Raccoon trappers led the way, selling $1.7 million worth of raccoon fur.
River otter pelts brought just over $73 dollars each, totaling $146,746.

I've blogged about otter trapping before, but I had no idea their pelts sold for that much. How many otters does it take to make a knee length coat?

That reminds me... I used to live downwind from Chicago's last tannery. I can still smell that smell. It never leaves you. Many stories there.

* Hello, caboose... in the wild! Nice find. Thanks for sharing that one, David.

* I don't want to end up like Bonnie and Clyde.
