Money talks


Something different, and yet, not.

Some jobs, opportunities, and healthy outlets would go a long way.

It may seem simple, but that is exactly right. You get up in the morning, get the kids ready for school, get yourself ready for work, spend all day at work, come home, fix dinner, go over homework, watch some TV, get the kids ready for bed, fall into bed exhausted, then start the whole thing all over again. You spend the weekends doing arts and crafts, sports, shopping, visiting friends, going to church. In the summer you keep them busy swimming, reading, building birdhouses. A lifestyle of such routines is certainly dull, but it works, and it is healthy. That is, stay so busy moving forward, being focused, being productive, you and them don't have time or inclination to pay any mind to the drug dealers. You got to start them young, very young. But, like I said, simple. I don't have all the answers and I may be wrong, but the jobs part has got to be a factor.

As a result, the often-corrupt federal Indian Agents were free to abuse their power even more than during peacetime, while the Native Americans they were supposedly assisting grew increasingly frustrated.
