Turning
Today's sunrise.
Laura's pumpkin.
* Final phase of $1.6B high-speed rail project to begin.
* Decline of the Peoria Gateway: Utility-Owned Chicago & Illinois Midland Cuts Back. In part:
Another C&IM contribution to the Peoria Gateway was Pillsbury Mills. This plant, which opened in 1929, made wheat flour and food products. While some wheat could be shipped from local elevators (on C&IM and other railroads), some undoubtedly originated in the Northern Plains and routed via Peoria.
Very informative. Thanks, David.
* Milwaukee Road Engine No. 261 Turning. Watch this beautiful thing. Also, getting on the turntable and getting off the turntable.
