Today's sunrise.

Still standing. That building in the distance, barely visible through the trees, is the one of two that was dynamited about 10:30 this morning. This picture was taken about seven hours later. From the SJ-R:

What was supposed to take a few seconds ended up taking about eight hours Tuesday as one of the two Sankey Hi-Rise buildings being imploded refused to come down.
All of the explosive devices intended to take down the two 14-story buildings in the 400 block of West Allen Street went off as planned about 10:30 a.m. Officials had said earlier they thought the 45-year-old structures would fall within seconds, but they didn’t.
The northern tower collapsed to the ground about 10 minutes after the blasts, but the southern tower remained standing most of the day. It didn’t come down until 6:40 p.m., about 15 minutes after officials held a news conference and said they planned to monitor the situation throughout the night.
