Ring out

This morning.

Fourth Street.

Heading into tonight's sunset, with birds.

* PetChatz.

* Ghazni.

* 7 Things You Had No Idea the World Is Running Out Of. Maybe.

* Final update on my identity verification crisis with healthcare.gov situation: I have health insurance for the first time in more than 15 years. I HAVE INSURANCE!

I really want to thank Senator Dick Durbin's Springfield office and Governor Pat Quinn's constituent services office for jumping on my situation and fixing the problem. I logged into my account tonight to find that my identity had been verified. From there, it was just a few minutes until I got a multitude of choices for insurance plans.

Thank you also to the Congress that voted for the Affordable Care Act. But thank you most of all to President Barack Obama for pushing hard to make what has become his namesake legislation into law and for standing hard against the nay-sayers. You've certainly taken a major drubbing over it, like no other politician for anything else we've ever witnessed. But, I firmly believe that history will prove that this was the right thing to do. Years from now, we will all look back and wonder what the fuss was about.

Previous posts: [one] and [two] and [three].

* Solstice bells. (Nice video.)
