The Illinois lottery started in July of 1974. I'm guessing these tickets were for a drawing that was held during the noon hour on the Old State Capitol Plaza in Springfield on August 8, 1974. I remember because I was there, even though I wasn't quite old enough to buy tickets, yet.

These pins, tickets and more, are from someone's vast Illinois politics collection, all of which recently came into my daughter's possession. I was sorry to inform her that stuff like this is a dime a dozen. But, still fun.
