They were askin' if you were around

* Marking a moment in time in stunned silence: The last minutes of Germanwings flight 4U9525.

* Absurd Fourth Circuit ruling embodies everything that’s wrong with drug raids.

* Full transcript of final Aaron Schock speech on House floor:

I heard that voice in every vote that I have cast. But I also knew that being in the majority was key to making a difference. And so I’m proud of the work I’ve done to contribute to a Republican majority here in Congress. To begin to scale back the overreaches of a bloated federal government and to begin to bend the curve on out-of-control spending. That has only happened because of a Republican majority and I’m proud to have played a role in building it.

All while gorging himself at the public trough.

* Map: Every single road in the U.S., in mind-boggling detail.

* Tribute: 124 North Sacramento Boulevard:

For years, possibly decades, the two-story brick flat at 124 North Sacramento Boulevard, just south of once-bustling Lake Street, has stood isolated and surrounded by vacancy. Bordered by an alley to the south and an overgrown fenced lot to the north and existing here since approximately 1889, it provides a glimpse into the former life of this block, neighborhood, and the greater West Side of Chicago.

Equally disturbing is that there's no evidence the place had a backdoor.

* I support this legislation: Bennett works towards promoting compassionate courtrooms:

SB 1389 would allow courts to authorize the use of “comfort canines” when children or others with a severe developmental or intellectual disability have to testify in court on sexual assault cases.
Authorized dogs would be required to go through training and be evaluated and registered as a member of Assistance Dogs International.

* Read this to increase your understanding of the universe: I Played 'The Boys Are Back in Town' on a Bar Jukebox Until I Got Kicked Out. (Thanks, Seth.)

* Told 'em you were livin' downtown...........
