To change the way things are

Iles Park.

* This morning's paper had a great take-down by Dave Bakke of Springfield's leadership for it's past, present, and even future water policy. Later in the day, the city made an announcement of a special meeting to figure out how to handle the current drought. Interesting.

* We love some flying squirrel, especially when it's served up Greco-Roman style. (Speaking of take-downs.) Good luck to Ellis Coleman, and all the Illinois athletes at the Olympics. (Via.)

* It's gonna take a lotta love (by Nicolette Larson).

Love The Flying Squirrel. I wrestled in high school. I never heard of that move. It's probably the last time he'll get to use it. It won't work if his opponent is even remotely prepared for it and he may even get hurt trying it. Still, fantastic move.

My best guy friend all through school was on the high school wrestling team and I never saw it either. His opponent never saw it coming. And you're right, they'll all be prepared for it now.

Just catching up on some of your posts. Boy, you're having it dry there. And hot, of course. Up in Chicago, they had a couple OK rains (and kind of violent ones) while I was there.

I love Nicolette Larsen's cover of that song.

Thanks, Dan. That's my favorite version of that song.
